What is cutting?

Once upon a time in the 19th century, cowboys would "cut" a cow from the herd for necessary branding or vaccinations etc. The cowboy would separate the cow from the heard, push it towards the center of an arena, or towards the campfire where other ranch hands would handle the cow. Today it is no longer a nessessary part of ranching, but an exciting sport attracting huge crowds to watch the fast paced action.

Sue and Tracy Barton started their training business over 20 years ago. While the kids played on the swings, mom and dad worked from sun up to sun down training, and caring for the horses and their clients. Tracy has, among other honors and awards, been inducted into the NCHA Hall of Fame, the ultimate honor from NCHA. Tracy has also won several world championships, and trained many world champion top dollar money earners.
